The cast of E4’s Made in Chelsea swapped the hustle and bustle of London for the sweet serenity of the Isle of Portland when they came, not only to stay, but to film an episode of their hit show at The Penn.
Stars of the programme Spencer Matthews, Millie Macintosh, Louise Thompson, Jamie Laing, Oliver Proudlock, Rosie Fortescue, Cheska Hull, Binky Felstead and Sophia Sassoon – plus their new friends Sam Cussins, Stevie Johnson and Andy Jordan – relaxed in the gardens, enjoyed a spot of football and, in the evening, toasted marshmallows under the Castle turrets and a picture-perfect starry Dorset sky.
Filming began in September, with The Penn basking in a spell of late summer sun. And having already enjoyed visits from stars of Hollywood and British TV, our wonderful Castle finally had a starring role of its own to play.
“We were delighted when we received an enquiry about the Made in Chelsea cast wanting to stay with us at The Penn,” said Castle Manager Jo Peters. “The cast are accustomed to luxurious surroundings and were genuinely impressed and excited to be staying at the Castle with a number of them expressing a wish to return.”
Aside from looking after stars of Hollywood and television, manager Jo has been kept busy with a host of private clients, and The Penn is fast becoming a popular choice for luxury weddings, rentals and photo shoots.
The episode of Made in Chelsea, in which The Penn features, was aired in mid-November but is still available to view on Channel 4’s on-demand service 4OD.
